The Nest Review is a nonprofit literary journal published out of the creative writing program at Pompton Lakes High School six times each school year. Each semester includes a poetry edition, The Cardinal Chronicle (a satirical newspaper) and a fiction edition.
A nest is an amalgamation of scraps found in the world, be it twigs, grasses, leaves, mud, or feathers, brought together to create something foundational. Our students, the cardinals, live in the world where they have experiences they then bring to the classroom and which serve as the material for their writing. The Nest Review houses these creative pieces, the budding writers, and nurtures their growth.
We do not currently take submissions from outside of the district’s program, but leave the option open for the future.
